My 1970s Paper Dolls

December 21, 2019December 21, 2019 by Sarah Kay, posted in Uncategorized

I have got to be the only kid my age who played with paper dolls when they were younger. I nearly forget about them until I was going through Pinterest this morning and came across a lovely printable paper doll dress, It reminded me of the paper dolls I played with when I was younger. … Continue reading My 1970s Paper Dolls

My fictional role models.

December 8, 2019December 8, 2019 by Sarah Kay, posted in Books!, Nerd

There is nothing more inspiring than the wonderful world of fiction. I grew up with more fictional role models than real people. But I think that's just because there's more to choose from, and I have always been careful who I admire and put my trust in because I don't want to be let down … Continue reading My fictional role models.

NaNoWriMo is Over at last!

December 1, 2019December 1, 2019 by Sarah Kay, posted in Book in progress, Writing

Finally, Nanowrimo is over! Last month was crazy! It went by so fast and yet not fast enough. You're probably waiting for me to tell you I won and my words of wisdom. Well, that's not exactly what happened... NOT EVEN CLOSE! I'm proud of myself this year! Even though I wasn't even close to … Continue reading NaNoWriMo is Over at last!

Welcome to my blog!

Hi! My name’s Sarah. I’m a teenage writer, and nerd. I created my blog to help aspiring authors like myself, to provide fun content for my fellow nerds, and to encourage other teens to be themselves.

It's a writing day! I can't wait to start draft 2 of my YA sci-fi thriller WIP "spring" 😁😁 Trip to the library! My goal this year is to read books that aren't popular/that I've never heard of. I want to expand my knowledge of literature past what is trending. Do you have any advice for getting out of a reading slump? I don't have the motivation to finish anything right now 😞 What is your favorite underrated book? I've always been a lover of classics and I've always wanted to read Frankenstein. I finally got around to it last summer and I've been obsessed ever since. I just love the themes of mental health, the desire to be loved, and trying to be God. It's a book that shows monsters aren't born, they are created. How is your Camp Nano going? I'm am announcing my camp projects on my blog tomorrow, but I'm giving you guys the news first! QUESTION FOR YOU!!! Getting ready for Camp Nanowrimo!!! I'm so excited about this year's project!!! OOTD! I think it would be much more aesthetically pleasing if I were in a coffee shop or a book store but alas this is my room and the book I'm reading for school. "I wonder," he said to himself, "what's in a book while it's closed. Oh, I know it's full of letters printed on paper, but all the same, something must be happening, because as soon as I open it, there's a whole story with people I don't know yet and all kinds of adventures and deeds and battles. And sometimes there are storms at sea, or it takes you to strange cities and countries. All those things are somehow shut up in a book. Of course you have to read it to find out. But it's already there, that's the funny thing. I just wish I knew how it could be." - The Neverending Story, Michael Ende.
